And now...

Now I can tease Scott for being a month behind everyone else on his post. Geez, ya lazy slacker, post sometime!

long time no see!

This has been my first weekend home in almost 3 weeks, so its time to post again! I'm currently sitting in my apartment cooking some vegetables to make spaghetti sauce and babysitting a box turtle I found in my neighbor's yard this afternoon. This is the same neighbor that just sprayed her entire lawn with round up so she doesn't have to mow it this summer. I decided wading through all those chemicals was not a good thing for the turtle (who I dubbed Baxter under Beth's instance I name it). The fate of Baxter is currently up in the air. I don't know if it would be better to let him go in a more sutible environment (but one he is unfamilar with) or re-releasing him into the neighborhood. I'm going to try to get some advice from co-workers tomorrow. As of now he is wandering around the apartment when he is not eating strawberries and tipping over his water.

Okay, at this moment I am obviously most enraptured by this turtle, but I have other big news! Most of you probably already know this, but I was ACCEPTED in OSU! WHOO! Can you believe that? OSU as in Oregon State, of course. I took a trip to Oregon two weekends ago, and they made me the offer. There's a very good chance I'll be able to develop a project looking at sexual conflict in the family of Plethadontid (sp?) salamanders. Yay!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of returning to IN to visit with Beth, Scott, Mona, Dana and Kris. It was much fun and we even accomplished things! We moved Scott and Beth down to Indy with very few mishaps (the only one I'm aware of was provoked by Kris and I 'cause we are awesome!)and picked out bridesmaid dresses as well as looked at bridal gowns for Bethany.

This weekend was much quieter. I had one main goal which we will see if I accomplish tonight: change my sleep schedule from 8pm-4am to 2am-10am. Starting Friday I've been staying up 2 hrs later each night, which means tonight is my first attempt at 2 am. Why a complete reversal in sleep, one might ask. Well, because I start frog calling surveys on Monday (yay!). As of this monday I am full time amphiban girl! No more birds and no more early mornings! Its just gonna be me and the frogs. I'm pretty pumped about it all!

Alright, that's all for me. I'll try to update more regularly now!
